So this past weekend was the Professional Photographers of Iowa Convention & Competition. I usually go but haven't the last two years. I did however send my print case down with a vendor from one of the labs and entered some prints into the Photogenic Categories and then my marketing/brochures into each of their designated categories. Back in 2010 I won Marketer of the Year with my marketing materials and thought I would give it another try this year with my new materials that I designed. I didn't get marketer of the year BUT I did place 1st in the Families/Children category for marketing so I am very proud of that. The photo of the materials is below. Also it is free to enter prints into the "photogenic" categories for Lil Miss, Lil Mr., Ms., and Mr. Photogenic. Now I know the photo below got 3rd place in the Mr. Photogenic category because he is the only one I submitted, but I also got 1st place in the Lil Miss Photogenic, but I entered 3 little girls so I don't know which one it was! I will post it once I know for sure! I am esctatic that I placed for 2 prints because there are usually around 100 entries in each category and lots of cute little kids and gorgeous men and women. So to get 3rd place, let alone 1st is a very awesome feeling!
At least this is what I believe I have won! Another photographer went to the awards banquet and sent me a message letting me know. I haven't picked up my print case yet to see the scores and what not.
